Healing Tools

Along my journey of self-discovery, I created images that explain why so many of the issues we face are tricky to fix.  Below are my three favorite tools that show how things are related and how when you start to work on one issue, new issues rise up to be addressed.  These tools came out of the work I was doing with clients.  I used to write hand notes, drawings if you will, to help explain some of the more complex topics we were discussing.  Eventually, there was such a strong response that I decided to get them drawn properly, copyright them, and give them away for free!

So here are my tools: The Wagon Wheel. The Roadmap (AKA the Holy Grail). The Respect-O-Meter. Print them out and take a deeper look. I hope they can help you just as they have helped hundreds of other clients along the way!

Wagon Wheel: This shows you how everything is interrelated. For example, how you treat your money shows up not just in your bank account. Money, and how we spend it (and in some cases waste it), represents your self-esteem; if that is damaged, the wheel will wobble. Once you move out of being a victim and begin to live your life with self-respect and honesty, the previously wobbly wheel will come together as a smooth unit.  All of the wobbles will work themselves out, and joy and contentment are the result.  Living a life made up of healthy choices that support our authentic selves is the key.

Roadmap: This is the holy grail. This is the roadmap to healing. Each step is critical.  You do them in order.  There's is a linear healing that happens when you're honest, self-reliant and honorable about your commitments, not to others but to yourself, then you move to the next step in the healing process.  You cannot leap frog over the hard work; you must do the work to be committed to yourself and your healing path or you will fall back to ground zero time and time again.

Respect-O-Meter: This third tool allows you to stay in the moment and ask yourself if you're making wise decisions.  When you choose wisely, you feel as if your world is in alignment; things add up, the daily process of life flows easily around us and through us.  But when you choose poorly, you give up your healing powers and temporarily forget all that you committed to in the past.  The good news is that with each poor decision there is an opportunity to change things.  In fact, each and every moment is an opportunity to choose again and to choose more wisely.  This means that as you dance with your decisions, you are gaining self-respect and deepening your commitment to create a life that lives up to your own personal integrity. From that place, life gets easier.
